What is genuinely free

More than you would expect, and it is worth being specific because most adult platforms put the paywall in front of the content rather than behind it:

• Reading every comic in the catalogue. All of it, full issues, no page limit.
• Browsing all four shelves — trending, readers' choice, brand new, popular all-time.
• Seeing page counts, read counts and authors before opening anything.

What that adds up to is an unusually honest trial. You can read a thirty-page issue made with the tool, end to end, and decide whether the output is good enough for you — without a card and without a countdown.

What Dreamcoins are

Dreamcoins are OurDream's internal credit, and they are the unit that actually governs cost. A subscription credits a fixed number each month; generating spends them.

• Premium — 1,000 coins a month, plus 10 videos and 20 minutes of voice calls.
• Deluxe — 5,000 coins a month, plus 50 videos and 100 minutes.

Extra coins can be added on top of a plan at checkout, in blocks, if the monthly allowance runs out. The video allowance matters here more than it looks: animating a comic page into a short film draws on it, so an issue with animated pages costs you twice — once in coins for the art, once in videos for the motion.

The plans

There is no comics-only tier. One subscription covers the Comic Studio alongside chat, image generation and video.

Yearly or monthly

The gap is large enough to be the main decision on this page. Measured on the checkout page:

Yearly halves the monthly rate on both tiers, and OurDream also advertises bonus coins in the first month on the annual plans. The trade is the up-front charge: $119.88 or $359.88 in one go, for twelve months you are committed to.

One thing to read carefully rather than take from us: the site headlines a “75% off” figure on annual billing, while the prices it displays move from $19.99 to $9.99 — which is 50%. The discount is real and substantial either way; the headline number is presumably measured against another list price. Check the total you are charged, not the badge.

What a page really costs

We are not going to give you a coins-per-page figure, because there isn't a stable one and anyone quoting you a precise number is guessing. The studio prices each generation at the moment you run it.

What we can tell you is where the money goes, which is more useful: re-rolls. Pages you accept first time are cheap. Pages you regenerate four times until the composition works are four times the price. Everyone underestimates this at the start.

Two things reduce it more than any plan choice. Plan the story before opening the tool, so you are not designing at generation time. And build your characters properly first, since the cast is what carries the look — fighting a bad character design panel by panel is the most expensive way to use the studio.
